Courses - Fall 2011

Some exciting new changes will be occurring over the next year in the Visual Arts Department – these may affect your registration for FALL 2011, so please read below. The Visual Arts department offers a wide array of for-credit courses. For a full list of courses available visit the current college catalog!

Course Changes - PLEASE READ! :: NEW Courses :: NEW Online Courses

IMPORTANT Changes: Web Design 1 (CAT 274) and Vector Motion Graphics (CAT 278)

Two courses currently required for the AAS in Interactive Technologies, the AAS in Graphic Design and the Certificate in Graphic Design, will be changing their designation and numbers.

The following courses will change from “CAT” to “ART” courses as early as Fall 2011. YOU MUST REGISTER FOR ART 170 AND ART 171 FOR FALL 2011.

CAT 274, Web Design 1 – CHANGE to ART 170, Web Design 1

  • This course's course number and designation will change to ART 170, Web Design 1.
  • Course content will remain the same.
  • The two courses (CAT 274 and ART 170) are interchangeable - if you have already taken CAT 274 for a degree requirement, you do NOT have to retake ART 170.
  • If you have yet to register and complete this course, you must take ART 170, Web Design 1 for your degree or certificate requirement.

CAT 278, Vector Motion Graphics – CHANGE to ART 171, Interactive Design 1

  • This course's course number/designation AND name will change to ART 171, Interactive Design 1.
  • Course content will remain the same.
  • The two courses are interchangeable - if you have already taken CAT 278 for a degree requirement, you do NOT have to retake ART 171.
  • If you have yet to register and complete this course, you will need to take ART 171, Interactive Design 1 for your degree or certificate requirement.
