Daryl W. Gonder, PhD

Associate Professor, English and Visual Arts
HUM 113E

Dr. Gonder began the film study program at AACC as well as created the college’s film analysis courses. He actively advises the college’s film study majors and in many cases continues to advise AACC film study graduates long after they have transferred to universities to complete their baccalaureate degrees. Dr. Gonder has graduate degrees in both film study and English.

The Film Study program at AACC, through a balanced curriculum of film analysis and filmmaking, is designed to prepare students to transfer to baccalaureate-degree granting universities and major either in filmmaking or film study. The program has been nationally recognized—for instance by Movie Maker Magazine—both for its affordability and its balanced approach to film study. Students regularly transfer from AACC to schools as diverse as NYU, Temple, North Carolina School for the Arts, and The University of Maryland.
