Students hike through the jungle of Costa Rica
How would you like to explore rainforests and coral reefs? Hike, snorkel, kayak and zipline? What do you think about up-close encounters with wildlife?

If all that sounds amazing, join us on an adventure to Costa Rica! This exciting opportunity is offered as part of Fundamentals of Ecology Travel Study (BIO-122).  You can participate as either a noncredit or credit student.

Lectures begin Monday, Oct. 21 with the Second 8-week term.

Trip Length

15 days


Participants will need a valid passport. U.S. passport holders do not need a special visa. 

Credit students are required to attend lectures. Lectures are optional for non-credit students (except for a couple pre-travel meetings).


Interested credit students must enroll in BIO-122. Both credit and non-credit students need to register for the non-credit section (2019SUN TRS-360-301).

Once you've registered for the AACC course, you will receive an email with additional instructions.

Aside from tuition, there are two travel fees: non-credit fee ($400) and Hart Travel Partners ($2950). These costs will be reduced by $300 if more than 14 students join us.
