Examine the development of world architectural styles, including European, Southeast Asian, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese styles, from the ancient world through the late European Middle Ages. Learn architectural design and city planning as responses to religious, political, economic, and cultural needs, as well as for an understanding of their structural principles.
