Learn an introduction to the principles and practices used in the propagation of native and cultivated plants. Study how the techniques of seed propagation, cuttings, grafting, separation, division and micropropagation are used to produce plants for home use and commercial applications. Learn how plants are improved through plant breeding and genetic modification. Lab fee $30. Prerequisite: BIO 103 or BIO 113 or permission of department chair; eligibility for ENG 101/ENG 101A and either eligibility for any general education math or a score of 27 or better on the Arithmetic Placement Test, or a "B" or better in MAT 005.
