Analyze critical issues and current events in the criminal justice system, using laws, policies, practices, and regulations. Study the roles and responsibilities that police, corrections, the judiciary, and homeland security play in these critical issues and current events. Examine topics such as use of force, law enforcement officers' bill of rights, police unions, civilian review boards, qualified immunity, first amendment rights and civil unrest, pandemics and national security, armed school resource officers, national police registry, fourth amendment rights and virtual learning, no-knock warrants, and others.
