Discover how to implement a coherent literacy program that supports content area learning and literacy. Focus on the use of effective instructional methods and materials in the design of reading programs to meet the diverse needs and backgrounds of students. Examine the use of technology, writing strategies and learning experiences to promote independence in content area reading. EDU 263 is a Maryland State Department of Education approved reading course. Prerequisite: A Bachelor's degree and seeking teacher certification or permission of department chair.
