New Transfer Pathways a Win for Students

Nov. 10, 2020

In 2018, 913 graduates transferred from AACC. Of those, 245 went to the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and 123 went to Towson University. In the fall, AACC added 16 transfer pathways to Towson and UMGC that makes the transfer process even easier for AACC graduates. These pathways to bachelor’s degrees in business administration, chemistry, computer science, psychology and others are listed on AACC's website

“We know our students want to transfer, so it’s important that we make the process as seamless as possible,” said Marcus Wright, director of transfer, articulation and career alignment at AACC.

Like many of AACC’s transfer agreements, those with Towson and UMGC also include scholarship opportunities and guaranteed admission to the institution. Some specialized programs, however, have their own requirements.

Starting at AACC and transferring is a financially smart decision. Students can save up to $9,440 in tuition costs by completing their associate degree at AACC and finishing bachelor's degree requirements at UMGC, based on 2019-2020 tuition costs.

To facilitate a seamless transition, students should work closely with their academic advisor to develop a transfer plan as early as possible.
