The Pre-apprenticeship Electrical program is designed to prepare you to enter and succeed in a registered Electrical Apprenticeship program. You will learn from an industry professional while participating in classroom and online instruction with hands-on lab training. Along with gaining valuable industry knowledge, you will also obtain OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid certifications while preparing for entry into a registered apprenticeship. Job placement assistance is available upon successful completion of the program.


What courses will I take?

The program consists of three courses:

CIT-314 Pre-apprenticeship Electrical Training Part A
CIT-315 Pre-apprenticeship Electrical Training Part B
NRN-332 Heartsaver/CPR

Total Hours: 197

Note: You must register for all three courses to enter the program.


What credentials can I earn?

Upon successful completion of the program, you will obtain both the OSHA – Safety Training and CPR and First Aid certifications. AACC Continuing Education Units will also be awarded.


What will it cost?

The total program cost is $3,123 for Anne Arundel County residents, including instruction, textbooks and lab supplies. Scholarships are available for eligible students.


What are the requirements?

If you're interested in this program, you must:

  • Attend an information session.
  • Have a high school or GED® diploma
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Have basic computer skills and daily access to a laptop, desktop or tablet with internet, webcam and audio capabilities
