To qualify for Honors program you must:
To remain eligible, students must maintain a 3.4 overall GPA.
Applying to the Honors program is easy.
Send an email to honors@aacc.edu, verifying that you meet the admissions criteria. Include a transcript (either official or unofficial) with the email. If you have less than 12 credits at AACC, this transcript should be from your high school or transfer institution.
If you have any questions about the application process or the program, email honors@aacc.edu.
The following courses are honors eligible (availability subject to change). If there are no available honors sections, you may choose to do an individual honors project approved by an instructor and the honors program coordinator for an honors-eligible course. Once you have registered for the standard section, you must reach out to your instructor immediately to see if they are available to facilitate the honors contract.
Students switching to an honors section of a course from a regular section, via honors contract, can switch back to the nonhonors section up until the audit deadline for the term. At the audit deadline, the change in section cannot be reversed.
*Honors-eligible courses can also be found when searching in the AACC College Catalog. Just type honors in the search bar and click Sort Alphabetically to see the entire list. The above list is accurate as of 8/25/2023.
Honors students also have the option to receive honors credits by participating in a project-based learning experience with a faculty mentor within a nonhonors section. This is a great opportunity to be creative, take the regular course material and expand on it by integrating personal interests and interdisciplinary topics and methodologies. To do this you enter into an Honors contract. Discuss this with a faculty member then complete an AACC Honors Program Contract.
