Appointed 2009
Kimberly McCoy Burns, of Linthicum, joined the AACC Board of Trustees on July 1, 2009. She is president of Maryland Business for Responsive Government (MBRG), a nonpartisan, statewide business education group.

For 20 years, Burns represented numerous businesses (including Fortune 500), trade associations and other organizations before state and local governments. Since 2006, she has served as a member of the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County board of trustees and since 2007 as a Parish Council elected member for Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She also served a four-year term from 2003-07 on the board of directors of the Washington Area State Relations Group, an organization of more than 200 corporate and association government relations professionals.

Burns earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Journalism from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland (now Notre Dame of Maryland University) and a Master of Business Administration degree in marketing with an emphasis in marketing strategy and information systems from the College of William and Mary. She earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore and was admitted to the Maryland Bar in 1993.
