­Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) welcomes the opportunity to serve our active duty personnel, veterans and military families.

AACC is committed to giving back to those who serve our country and we provide several real-world hands-on educational paths to develop skills for military or post-military jobs. By investing in the education of soldiers and veterans, AACC provides training and academic programs tailor-made for individuals transitioning from the military or changing careers.

In addition, personal enrichment opportunities and certain education benefits are extended to spouses, dependents and civilian personnel such as summer camps and scholarship opportunities.

AACC holds several National Distinctions for our Military/Veteran services and programs:

Military Friendly® distinction
The college is proud to be recognized as a Military Friendly® School for the fifth year in a row. This annual G.I. Jobs list honors the top 20 percent of 8,000 U.S. colleges, universities and trade schools for programs and services for American veterans. Read AACC’s Military Friendly School profile.

Military Advanced Education "Top College" distinction
Anne Arundel Community College has maintained a TOP COLLEGE ranking in the Military Advanced Education (MAE) Guide to Colleges & Universities research study for over 5 years. Schools are evaluated by their achievement in military culture, financial aid, flexibility, on-campus support and online support services.

Military Times "Best for Vets" distinction
The college is pleased to be recognized by Military Times as a "Best for Vets" College. Institutions are evaluated based on their responses to an detailed survey, as well as on data collected by three different federal agencies.

Military/Veteran Student Services

Explore the many ways AACC serves active military, veterans, military spouses and dependents. 

Credit for Military Experience
AACC offers a prior learning assessment for degree-seeking military service members who wish to receive credit for their military experience toward an Associate degree. AACC also provides transfer options toward completion of a four-year degree.

Tuition and Financial Aid for Veterans

Accessibility
Military students on base at the Fort George G. Meade Army Installation can take advantage of an expanded credit course offering at Meade High School. Fall classes are available Monday through Thursday in the areas of English, math, science, history and law. AACC also offers classes online and at many different high school and off-site locations around the county, making it a convenient way to upgrade your skills for today's and tomorrow's workforce. Campus locations include AACC at Arundel Mills, Glen Burnie Town Center, and the main Arnold campus.

Military and Veteran Resource Center (MVRC)
Among its many outreach initiatives for veterans, military personnel and their dependents, AACC staffs a Military/Veteran Resource Center (MVRC) on the Arnold campus in the Andrew Truxal Library (LBRY) Building Room 112. AACC also has a campus chapter of the Student Veterans of America.
