AACC Measures of Success

AACC strives for success in all its students, programs, offerings, and services. Here are some of the college's recent achievements.

  • More degrees and certificates awarded than any other single-campus community college in Maryland.
  • Best four-year transfer/graduation rate for full-time students among our peer colleges.
  • The Class of 2009 saw 1,506 graduates receive 1,218 degrees and 372 certificates.
  • 34 percent of all 2009 high school graduates in Anne Arundel County are enrolled as freshmen at Anne Arundel Community College.
  • AACC was named a 2009 winner of the Center for Digital Education's Digital Education Achievement Award in the Learning and Engagement category for Project SCOPE.
  • Interior design students won 12 first-place and honorable mention awards in the annual American Society of Interior Designers Maryland-Chesapeake Home's design competition in fall 2009.
  • AACC's registered nursing program achieved a pass rate of 98 percent in May 2008 and 95 percent in December 2008. The May 2009 registered nursing graduates achieved a 98 percent pass rate.
  • The AACC Foundation provided $1.1 million to AACC students for scholarships and program support.
  • AACC's athletic teams won the 2008-09 Maryland JUCO President's Cup, awarded annually to the Maryland JUCO member college with the best overall success in athletic teams' performance.
  • 100 percent first-time pass rate for 2009 Radiologic Technology program graduates.
  • AACC, recognized for offering exceptional technology support, was awarded sixth place among large community colleges in the 2009 Digital Community Colleges Survey. 
  • 719 student registrations from summer 2008 through spring 2009 for the AACC University Consortium.
