High School Students, 16 Years of Age or Older

Concurrent Enrollment allows qualified students to enroll in a limited number of courses at the college while completing high school graduation requirements. Concurrent Enrollment participants may enroll in college level courses any time and in any format, e.g. classroom lecture or online.

Jump Start is a program jointly sponsored by Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) and  Anne Arundel County Public High Schools (AACPS). Students age 16 and up can explore college-level courses and programs while they are still in high school. Jump Start participants may qualify for a tuition scholarship equal to a 50 percent reduction in tuition costs. Students may take day, evening or weekend classes during the fall, spring and summer terms at the Arnold campus, AACC at Arundel Mills and the Glen Burnie Town Center. Or, they may take evening classes during these terms at Brooklyn Park Middle School and Meade Middle School. Home School Students: Students receiving half of their instruction through a Maryland Education Department approved home school program (Type A and B) as indicated on the AACPS Home School Notification from, may qualify for the tuition scholarship, if they provide a copy of the form signed by an authorized designee of the AACPS Home School Office by the first day of class.

Early Admission allows high school students with a minimum 3.0 grade point average at the end of their junior year to apply to Anne Arundel Community College with permission from their high school. Requirements for high school graduation may be completed at the college during the summer term following the junior year or may be fulfilled by successfully completing the first year of college. Students seeking early admission should consult with their high school counselors to ensure their planned college program will satisfy the requirements for a high school diploma. 

Dual Credit is a program where students earn both high school and college credit for approved courses which are either not available at their current high school or for which they do not have access. Students receiving an AACC grade of 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' or 'D' will receive an AACPS grade of 'S.' An AACC grade of 'F,' 'FX,' or 'I' will be equivalent to an AACPS grade of 'U.' AACC courses do not calculate towards a student's AACPS GPA.
