If you are a degree- or certificate-seeking student, we recommend that you work with your assigned Advisor either in person or via email.
- Advisors are assigned by type of degree and then alphabetically by students’ last name. View your assigned Advisor’s contact information.
- You will receive regular e-mails from your assigned Advisor throughout the term. These emails will be sent to your MyAACC e-mail account. If an Instructor becomes concerned about your academic progress in an online class, they will share their concerns with your Advisor who will e-mail you the Instructor’s concerns along with links to appropriate resources. Therefore, it is important that you check your MyAACC student email account daily.
If you are a nondegree seeking student, our online Advisor at advising@aacc.edu is available to assist you.
If you are not doing well at the end of the fifth week, you will receive an interim grade from your Instructor via regular mail;
- Interim grades are either a U (unsatisfactory) or an FX (failure due to lack of attendance). For students receiving a U, there may be hope in improving their performance and completing the course successfully. For students receiving an FX, they are encouraged to withdraw from the course.
- Interim grades recipients are required to meet with an Advisor to draft a success plan. If you receive an interim grade and are at a distance from any of AACC’s locations, you can “meet” with your Advisor via your MyAACC e-mail account.
In addition to Academic Advising, CARS offers a series of workshops for Academic, Career, Transfer, and Study Skills:
