Why study Aging Studies?
- The proportion of older adults will continue to grow to almost one-fourth of the total population over the next 30 years.
- The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics projects this field to grow faster than other occupations through 2014.
- In effect, employment needs and opportunities for those with training and experience in the field of gerontology will also grow.
What does the program provide?
This program provides opportunities not only for those interested in direct service provision to older adults, but also to health professionals, educators, researchers, and those in recreation, business and marketing who must increasingly take into account a significant proportion of older persons among their clientele and target populations.
