Federal Direct Student Loans are available to all eligible students. Students will first need to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once the FAFSA and all requested paperwork have been received, AACC will notify students if they are eligible for Federal Direct Student Loans. Eligible students can login to their to MyAACC, print out a Loan Request Form and turn it in to our Financial Aid office.
The Financial Aid Office is responsible for certification of loans for students who are eligible and apply for the following Federal Education Loan Programs:
Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans
Direct PLUS Loan for Parents
(Never Borrowed Through the Federal Direct Loan Program)
Returning Students (Borrowed Through the Federal Direct Loan Program While Attending AACC)

Time Limitation of Direct Subsidized Loan Eligibility for First-Time Borrowers
There is a limit on the maximum period of time (measured in academic years) that a student can receive Direct Subsidized Loans. In general, students may not receive Direct Subsidized Loans for more than 150% of the published length of their program.
