Financial Aid Workshops

Now is the best time to apply for financial aid for the next school year (Fall 2010 through summer 2011). The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for grants, student loans, and federal work-study funds, and is also required for many scholarship applications.

To apply for aid from the the Maryland Higher Education Commission, you must submit your FAFSA by March 1, 2010. If you or or your parents cannot complete your 2009 federal income tax return that early, you are allowed to report estimated tax data on the FAFSA, but you must correct these estimates after you complete your tax returns. (You can still apply for federal grants and student loans by submitting a FAFSA after March 1.)

Financial Aid Workshops

There are no workshops curently scheduled.

In part 1 of each workshop, AACC's financial aid experts will explain the available aid programs and application process for scholarships, grants, student loans, and tax credits. In part 2, students and parents who are ready to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), can use AACC's computer labs to submit their FAFSAs with the help of AACC's aid experts.

To fully participate in part 2 of the workshop, please print the attached list of data needed to complete your FAFSA. If possible, it's best to bring your completed 2010 Federal Tax Returns to the workshop, but if it's not possible to complete your tax returns that early, please bring copies of your 2010 W2 forms and other data needed to estimate your 2010 tax data.
