Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Training

Start your career in truck driving by earning either the CDL-A license required for driving heavy truck and tractor-trailers or the CDL-B license required for driving straight trucks, dump trucks, passenger buses and motor coaches.

Accreditations 

  • Accredited by The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
  • Approved by the Department of Education in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware.
  • Approved by The Federal Department of Education to participate in Title IV Funding Programs.
  • Approved Vendors of The National safety Council Defensive Driving Programs.
  • Approved for Veterans Benefits. 

Job Outlook

  • Heavy truck and tractor-trailer truck drivers expected growth potential of 6% through 2024 and expected annual salary of nearly $41,000.
  • Light truck and delivery service drivers expected growth potential of 4% through 2024 and expected annual salary of $28,000.

Requirements 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a good driving record.
  • Be able to read road signs and maps in English.
  • Obtain a CDL driver's permit from Maryland's Motor Vehicle Administration.
  • Successfully pass the Maryland Department of Transportation physical examination and drug screen.

Commercial Drivers License A

Training Overview 

  • Offered in partnership with All-State Career School in Baltimore, MD.
  • Training consists of one classroom lecture course and one driving range and highway course.
  • Course can be completed in 16 days.
  • Courses approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Total hours-160.

Courses

  • OCA 334 - CDL Class A - Part I Operation 
  • OCA 335 - CDL Class A - Part II Control Skills
    • Classes offered Monday through Friday, or Saturday and Sunday from 7:00AM to 5:30PM.
    • Classes form monthly at the Glen Burnie Towne Center (GBTC).
    • On-the-range training done at the Baltimore training facility.

Cost

  • $3,909 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition, fees and MVA Class A road test.
  • $3,929 for out-of-county residents.
  • $3,959 for out-of-state residents.

Commercial Drivers License B

Training Overview 

  • Offered in partnership with All-State Career School in Baltimore, MD.
  • Training consists of one classroom lecture course and one driving range and highway course.
  • Course can be completed in one week.
  • Courses approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Total hours-52.

Course

  • OCA 343 - CDL Class B - Operation and Control Skills
    • Classes are offered Monday through Friday, or Saturday and Sunday from 7:00AM-5:30PM.
    • Classes form monthly at the Glen Burnie Town Center (GBTC).
    • On-the-range training done at the Baltimore training facility.

Cost

  • $2,402 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition, fees and MVA Class B road test.  
  • $2,412 for out-of-county residents.
  • $2,427 for out-of-state residents

Credentials

  • Upon successful completion of the above courses, students earn an AACC Continuing Education Certificate. 
  • Upon successful completion of the above courses(whichever the student enrolled in and completed, A or B), students are prepared to take the CDL Class A or CDL Class B State road test.
