Spring 2010 Term Extended - Letter to the Students
Dear AACC Students,
As you are all aware, this winter Maryland and many surrounding states have experienced unprecedented amounts of snowfall that have resulted in the college being fully or partially closed for approximately 12 days. These closures have resulted in a significant amount of instructional time being lost. Although the current academic calendar is structured to allow some flexibility in dealing with closures, the college will have to make up lost instructional time. Through careful thought and consideration, it has been decided that the college will address this concern by extending the spring term by one week. Additional adjustments to classes held at off-campus locations (with the exception of Glen Burnie Town Center and Arundel Mills) may be necessary.
I know that each of you have multiple questions about how this change will impact you as a student. First, the academic calendar has been adjusted to account for the extra week. Second, the exam scheduled has been revised. Lastly, the dates for spring break and commencement are not being changed.
You are strongly encouraged to view the extended dates of the spring 2010 term. On this page you will find the revised academic calendar and exam schedule, as well as a list of frequently asked questions.
I know that this change will allow each and every one of you the opportunity to continue to make progress in your courses as you work toward high academic achievement.
If you have any additional questions please contact the college information line at 410-777-2222.
Sincerely,
Ivan L. Harrell II., Ph.D.
Dean of Student Services
