Law and Jurisprudence
This pre-law program allows you to gain knowledge and insight into the building blocks of the American legal system and refine critical thinking and analytical skills. The Associate of Arts degree (A.A.) provides a law and liberal arts foundation for you to transfer to a four-year college or university, such as the University of Baltimore, to pursue a bachelor's degree in jurisprudence and, ultimately, attend law school.
Students who have already selected a transfer college/university should consult with the Director of the Institute for Criminal Justice, Legal Studies and Public Service to plan their course sequence and keep abreast of program changes and updates to any applicable articulation agreements.
Law and Jurisprudence A.A. Degree
AACC's Law and Jurisprudence program is an excellent way to prepare for law school. This program was designed in cooperation with University of Baltimore's Jurisprudence Program and is designed to seamlessly transfer to such program with the goal of earning your bachelor's degree. This program helps you refine your analytical abilities and combine those with practical skills in legal research and writing. These skills will be essential in taking the law school entrance exam, the LSAT, and will help you succeed in law school.
