Center for the Study of Local Issues

You have been re-directed to CSLI's new site.

To access the previous interactive Web site with presentations, survey findings, and searchable database, please go to: http://www2.aacc.edu/csli/

The Center for the Study of Local Issues (CSLI) was established by members of the Social Science Division at Anne Arundel Community College in 1978. It is now a part of the Sarbanes Center for Public and Community Service.

Its mission is fourfold:

  • To provide students with engaged learning opportunities and enhanced civic engagement by participating in relevant, community oriented research projects.
  • To serve the community and government by offering research services.
  • To assist AACC's faculty by providing research opportunities for students in their classes and to offer professional development opportunities for faculty members.
  • To help AACC collect and analyze information to better assess and meet community needs.

The Center's primary activity is to conduct public interest surveys on a semiannual basis. Press releases detailing the results of these surveys are accessible dating from 1995. You can also search the survey database by topic and question. More information about services, a list of members of the advisory board and clients, and presentations by the director to community and college groups are also available via the CSLI Interactive Web Site.

CSLI is located in room 132 on the first floor of the Careers Center on the AACC Arnold campus. Office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., weekdays.
