Temporary Desktop Support Technician

Department:  Customer Support Services, Information Services

Job Description:
The Temporary Desktop Support Technician, Information Services, is responsible for assisting the Desktop Support staff with day-to-day operations. The Temporary Desktop Support Technician will work with the Desktop Support Technicians in deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining the computer hardware and software to meet the computer-related needs of students, faculty and staff. In addition, the Temporary Desktop Support Technician for Information Services is responsible for assisting in the delivery and set up of pc’s and peripherals.

Salary $13.00/hour

Job Location:  Arnold Campus (CRSC 114)

Other Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college level coursework in computer related courses desired; audiovisual and/or multimedia knowledge/experience helpful.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to provide clear, concise directions and guidance and a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service in a prompt, cooperative and friendly manner.
Experience in installing, using, troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with attention to details and deadlines with minimum supervision.
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, approximately 50 to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Ability to work up to 25 hours a week on a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the college.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, staff and the public.
Willingness to learn new technical skills to enhance current performance and to maintain state of the art technology.
