Glen Burnie Town Center (GBTC) College Services Assistant

Duties: Responsible for the dissemination of information to the general public and Anne Arundel Community College students, faculty and staff. Provides operational, instructional, and clerical support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of general clerical experience required; some experience in supporting academic services and programs strongly preferred.
  • Ability to type accurately at 55 wpm using a personal computer.  Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and PC applications.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision with attention to details and deadlines.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including a demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of college operations and resources highly desirable.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of the program.
  • Participate in a plan of professional development to enhance current job skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, staff, governmental agencies, community organizations and the public.

Pay rate: $10/hour

Hours: 20/week
