Position Title:       
Job Search Development Specialist - Employment Services

Counseling Advising and Retention Services - Employment Services

Up to 20 hours per week

Position Status:
Contractual with no benefits


The Job Search Development Specialist will work closely with Employment Services staff in the expansion of our employer relationships with area employers and enhancement of on campus awareness of employment opportunities for students. The position provides a full range of support on business related services to employers, students, faculty, and staff.

Duties include:
Work closely with Employment Services Specialist to:

Research, collaborate and recruit new employers to support the professional goals of students. Coordinate and implement employer-related events to include career fairs, informational session requests, and on-campus recruitment requests.  

Manage the On-Line Career Management Board in College Central and marketing of opportunities to all constituents.

Engage with faculty/career program staff to facilitate student readiness throughout the job search process;  individual job search counseling; administration of job search-related workshops, presentations and programs; assisting students with professional skill development (résumé writing, interviewing techniques, job search skills).

Provide assistance to the department in creating and managing Employment Services social media sites on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIN.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business management, human resources, marketing or related field along with a minimum of five years of substantial advanced experience in corporate engagement/development, employer relations or HR recruiting and college relations and workforce development or Masters degree with 3 or more years experience.

Ability to build and maintain relationships strongly preferred. Understanding of the business job market, research tools and current labor market trends.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work with individuals and groups and prepare and deliver presentations. Must be proficient with technology and interested in identifying and adopting technological advances in the field.
