EMT-Paramedic Certificate and Degree Course Sequence

EMT-Paramedics are in great demand. As advances in patient care technologies and therapies occur, the role of the paramedic will expand to meet the challenges.

PREREQUISITES     
EMT 105 - Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) (7)
AND
BIO 230 - Structure and Function of the Human Body (4)
OR
BIO 232 - Human Biology 2 (4)
OR
BIO 234 - Anatomy and Physiology 2 (4)           

FIRST YEAR - SPRING TERM 
EMT 140 - EMT-Paramedic 1 (13)

FIRST YEAR - SUMMER TERM
EMT 147 - ALS Unit Practicum (2) 

FIRST YEAR - FALL TERM 
EMT 142 - EMT-Paramedic 2 (13)           

After successful completion of EMT-Paramedic 1 and EMT-Paramedic 2, students are eligible to sit for the Maryland State EMT-Intermediate exam before completing the EMT-Paramedic 3 term.

SECOND YEAR - SPRING TERM 
EMT 236 -  EMT-Paramedic 3 (12)

Total Credit Hours (Certificate): minimum of 54/Total Credit Hours (Degree): minimum of 70
