RONALD E. PRASS JR.
Ronald Prass, a partner in Prass LLP, has extensive experience in various aspects of patent law, including patent preparation and prosecution, patentability opinions and litigation. Prior to forming his own practice, he worked as attorney in two law firms and as a U.S. Patent Examiner.

In addition, Prass has technical expertise in electrical engineering and computer software and hardware, with particular expertise in a variety of highly technical subjects. Some of these include computer networking, wireless communications, telephone networks, image processing, computer security, semiconductors, speech recognition and automated dialog systems, handheld processing devices, xerography, cryptography, control systems, database management software, DVD technology, cellular telephony, fiber optics, medical devices, automobile navigation and transmission systems, computer data storage devices and Internet-related technologies.

Prass graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1987 with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. Prass served nine years on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Now a Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves, Prass served as both a Navy flight officer and as an aviation engineering duty officer. He currently performs his duties as an engineering projects officer with the Naval Air Systems Command.

He also has a master of science degree in management from Troy State University and earned a juris doctor from American University in 1995. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland, Washington, D.C., before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
