Landscape contractors, designers and architects, environmental site managers and sustainability specialists gain a better understanding of best practices for sustainable landscaping for both residential and commercial settings.

Environmental Landscape


What is the training?

Training consists of five noncredit courses. Students will learn best practices for sustainable landscaping and how to be more environmentally responsible. Topics will include

•    selecting seasonal, native and non-invasive plant species for landscaping;
•    improving storm water management through the design and maintenance of rain gardens;
•    building soil health and productivity through natural means and
•    enhancing wildlife habitats.

ENV 513 - Sustainable Landscape Maintenance
HOR 329 - Woody Plants for Landscape Installation
ENV 579 - Soil Management

What credentials can I earn?
Upon successful completion of all five noncredit courses and the capstone exam, students will earn an AACC continuing education certificate. To receive the AACC certificate students must complete and submit the form to our office. The form and instructions can be found at ­www.aacc.edu/coned/certificates.
