The Hatchery Business Knowledge Resource Center is located in the Careers Building in rooms 100 and 102. It is designed for assisting students wishing to start a business regardless of their educational goals.

The facility includes a business library and computers with software applications designed for assisting in the start-up of new ventures.

One-on-one or group advising sessions can be arranged with ESI faculty and business advising agencies to assist students with various issues surrounding the concept, planning, financing, marketing, and management of a small business.

The Hatchery provides friendly professional environment to explore entrepreneurial opportunities. Private or group workspace is available with access to required information technology.

Software applications include the Microsoft Business Suite applications, QuickBooks Accounting, Business Plan Pro, Business Document Pro, and Internet Access. Business advising is available through the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Also, free business legal services are available through ESI's partnership with the Anne Arundel County Bar Association.
