A Little More

Bridget Weiss has a quote by writer and activist Maya Angelou that she loves: “I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.” Weiss knows that many students are dealing with hard challenges in their lives, but she aims to help them find in themselves the intelligence and fortitude she sees in them every day.

Weiss thinks it’s vital to find your purpose, and she said hers is “to help and empower others to be well so they can find their purpose and pass the good on for generations to come.”

Weiss has been a part of the AACC community since 2005, when she began teaching as an adjunct instructor. Since 2021 she has been working full time as clinical coordinator and clinical instructor in the areas of pediatric/adult emergency medicine and labor and delivery.

The thing she most enjoys about teaching at AACC is the difference faculty get to make in the lives of students who may not be ready for a four-year college. She is inspired by her students’ “tenacity and fortitude to succeed in their academic and personal lives.”
