A Little More

For Stephanie Smith-Baker, the most inspiring thing about working at AACC is watching excited students learn, excel and start or continue a new career.

“I enjoy the interactions, sharing knowledge, mentoring and seeing my student's academic and personal growth,” she said.

Smith-Baker has been at AACC for 20 years, teaching courses like Law and Ethics for Health Professions, Pharmacology for Health Professions, Medical Terminology and Diseases of the Human Body. Her students know her to be fair, positive and easy to talk to.

Besides teaching, Smith-Baker is involved in the larger AACC community, serving as a Black History Month committee coordinator and on the School of Health Sciences Open House Committee.

In her spare time, Smith-Baker enjoys expanding her own learning. She listens to diverse types of music and studies different cultures.

“I enjoy learning new things that helps me to expand my knowledge and allow me to better coexist with others, ultimately promoting an environment to thrive,” she said.
