Fitness and Recreational Sports
AACC's School of Continuing and Professional Studies offers a variety of ways to stay fit while having fun. The fitness classes range from Aquatic fitness classes like Arthritis Aquatic and Swimming for Fitness; to Group Exercise classes like Aerobics, Basic Boot Camp, Butts and Guts, Embody Barre, Kickboxing, and Zumba; to stress reductions classes like Yoga and Tai Chi. There is something for everyone!

AQUATIC CLASSES
HTH 395 - Arthritis Aquatic Therapy
Designed for students limited by impaired joint motion or strength. Practice exercises designed to improve muscle strength, coordination, endurance and ability to perform daily tasks.
AHL 371 - Swimming for Fitness
Practice speed drills and improve endurance through this masters-type swim program. Includes stroke work and strength building exercises as necessary.
AHC 364 - Synchronized Swimming NEW
Experience the beautiful world of synchronized swimming. Learn the basic and modified skills needed in performing aquatic stunts.
GROUP EXERCISE
AHC 345 - Belly Dance Aerobics
Learn belly dancing moves while getting into shape. Tone your muscles and improve your cardiovascular system.
AHC 359 - Embody Barre NEW
Combine ballet bar core exercises with ballet and modern dance moves for body shaping results. Increase flexibility, strengthen your core and improve posture.
AHC 346 - Aerobics
Improve your cardiovascular system and tone muscles through dance aerobics. Gain strength and flexibility using hand weights with floor work.
AHC 335 - Basic Boot Camp
Experience a calisthenics-based fitness program. Practice simple but profoundly effective exercises. Little or no equipment is needed. Designed for those who need motivation to start and continue a fitness lifestyle.
AHC 356 - Butts and Guts
Work out your lower body with a focus on burning fat and toning muscles.
AHC 349 - Zumba
Fuse Latin rhythms with easy to follow moves as you learn Zumba fitness. Gain insights into the long-term benefits of this calorie-burning, body-energizing exercise program.
TAI CHI and YOGA
ATC-381 - Gentle Yoga
Experience the softer side of yoga, with an emphasis on relaxation and stretching. Great for beginners.
HLH 370 - Therapeutic Yoga NEW
Practice a combination of techniques that address injury and illness, including restorative and gentle yoga, breath work, hands on healing and guided meditation.
ATC-380 - Yoga Tone
Safely stretch and tone your body while you release the tension and stress of daily life. Combines yoga and Pilates methods.
AHL 337 - Yoga
Learn to relax your body and mind with exercises that improve flexibility, strength and coordination. Emphasizes proper breathing and body alignment. Work at your own pace in this noncompetitive discipline. All levels welcome.
HLH 344 - Morning Tai Chi
Hone movements that focus on relaxation, stress reduction, balance and coordination.
TENNIS
AHC 320 - Beginning Tennis
Learn basic forehand, backhand and service skills and then start to play doubles and singles matches. Learn rules and strategies of singles and doubles play

AHC 321 - Advanced Beginning Tennis
Learn more advanced tennis strokes, techniques and tactics. Receive lots of practice in rallying while playing singles and doubles matches.
