applied foresight... using the perspective
Carbon trading, or “Cap and Trade” is a strategy for lowering overall global emissions of carbon dioxide. FERN, a Dutch not-for profit organization which seeks to expand the discussion to focus more on methodologies for absolute reductions of carbon dioxide emissions, has a wealth of information about carbon sinks, offset projects, carbon trading, and more.
futures thinking... looking ahead
The Near-Earth Object Program Office of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab monitors and studies asteroids – rocky solar system bodies which number in the tens of thousands. They orbit our sun, but are too small to be called planets. The Asteroid Watch site features expert discussion on recent and projected asteroid events, some simulation videos, as well as ideas to deal with a potentially hazardous event should one be detected in the future.
