The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is on a search for evidence that water may have persisted on the surface of Mars for a long time period in the past. The latest news show some important discoveries. The orbiter is a mission of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, NASA.

Helping people connect with a way to make positive changes in the world is the aim of Jumo, a public-spirited, web-based social network. The site provides an information exchange about a number of causes, and allows people to choose a cause and contribute their time, money and skills.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) promotes policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people globally. OECD has 34 member countries and is a 50 year old organization headquartered in Paris, France. OECD developed the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which is administered to 15 year old's world wide. In the last assessment, Korea and Finland scored highest for literacy. The site contains a number of study reports about education, and relationships between education and economic growth and well being.

Interested in a course on the future for college credit?
Check our Exploring the Future (FTR /BPA /SOC 105) course listing. This is a 3 credit-hour General Education course which also satisfies the diversity requirement. Spring Term registration is now over, but Summer and Fall Term registration will be available starting in late March for both online and face-to-face classes.

Registration is now open for the WorldFuture 2011 Conference "Moving from Vision to Action", which will be July 8 - 10 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This is the annual conference of the World Future Society.
