The impacts of global climate change affect individuals, communities, agriculture, and many industries. In response to requests from stakeholders, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has announced plans to develop a Climate Service Office to provide critical planning information.

World Biosphere Reserves are part of a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) program to foster conservation and sustainable development. Located in many nations throughout the world, the reserves remain under national jurisdiction and share their best practices with the global community. Notably, the UN has declared 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity to emphasize the importance of biodiversity to human well being.

Interested in a course on the future for college credit?
Check our Exploring the Future (FTR 100) class listing. This is a 3 credit-hour General Education course which also satisfies the diversity requirement. Spring Term registration is now over, but Summer Term registration will be available in April for both the online and traditional face-to-face classes.

Registration is now open for the WorldFuture 2010 Conference "Sustainable Futures, Strategies, and Technologies", which will be July 8 - 10 in Boston, Massachusetts. This is the annual conference of the World Future Society.
