The Sarbanes Center helps students gain real world experience.  In simple terms - we are matchmakers.  The Center connects students with the community.  Activities with government agencies, schools, businesses and nonprofit organizations are designed to be mutually beneficial, and a win-win for all.

Senator Sarbanes

The Sarbanes Center was created as a tribute to former Senator Paul S. Sarbanes, the longest-serving senator in Maryland history, for his support of higher education and his service to Maryland communities.  Anne Arundel Community College seeks to replicate the Senator's dedication to meeting community needs by strengthening curriculum to develop engaged citizens.

National Recognition

The Sarbanes Center has achieved national recognition with the highly regarded Community Engagement Classification with the Carnegie Foundation.  The selection recognizes the college's outstanding commitment to community engagement.
