What is the job outlook?
Gaming is one of the fastest growing industries on the East Coast with six casinos in Maryland alone. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts employment for gaming dealers to grow by 17% by 2020, adding more than 15,000 jobs, the fastest growth in gaming services occupations. The State of Maryland recently approved table games and the casinos in Maryland are recruiting dealers to meet the demand. The average beginning salary for dealers is $18,000 plus tips with a potential for $50,000 or more per year. 

What is the training?
Prepare for Maryland state dealer licensing in blackjack, craps, baccarat, roulette and Pai Gow. Begin with an introductory course then master the dealing for each game. Classes are available mornings, afternoons and evenings.

COO 366 - Introduction to Casino Games*
 *Students must register and complete prior to beginning other training. Individuals who currently have a dealer license are not required to take this course.

What credentials can I earn?
Upon successful completion, students may earn a continuing education certificate and will be qualified to seek employment as a table games dealer. 

What will it cost?
$197 to $647, per course for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition and fees. For information on AACC's continuing education payment plan, visit

What are the requirements?
Anyone at least 16 years of age, may enroll in a casino dealer school course, no application is necessary. However, to be employed in most Maryland casinos you will need to be 21 years or older, have a good command of English, be proficient in basic math, have good hand dexterity, no visible tattoos or body piercings (other than earrings) and have excellent customer service skills. 

How do I enroll?
Students should attend an orientation prior to registration, then register online, by faxmail, in person.
