Shawn Harlan

Shawn Harlan, CEC, CHE, an Instructional Specialist, is an accomplished chef and instructor with more than 18 years experience in the kitchen. His professional teaching career began in 2001 and he has worked at some of America’s finest restaurants. Most notable are the Five-Star, Five-Diamond The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia, the Five-Diamond Lespinasse Restaurant in Washington, DC as Chef de Cuisine, the Five Star, Five-Diamond Château de Sureau & Erna's Elderberry House Restaurant in California as Chef de Cuisine, and as an apprentice at Rudy's 2900 in Maryland with Master Chef Rudolf Speckamp. Chef Harlan in the 2005 recipient of the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation's SPECTRUMS "Advocate of the Year" award and nominee for the AACC Student Association 2005 "Teaching Excellence" award. He is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP) and a graduate of the Baltimore International Culinary College.
