Dr. Frank Alduino

A native of West Babylon, New York, Frank Alduino is a professor of history. He teaches courses in American history, American Government and Italian American history and culture. Dr. Alduino earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate at Florida State University. He has authored several articles on Italian Americans in the American Civil War and the Prohibition Era in Florida. He has also participated in the “Italians of New York: Five Centuries of Struggle and Achievement,” sponsored by the New-York Historical Society in October 1999.

In 2001, Dr. Alduino received the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award. He also was the 2004 recipient of the Massaro History Prize awarded by the Italian-Americana journal. Dr. Alduino is currently completing a study of the role of Italian Americans in the Union Army and Navy during the American Civil War.  In 2006, the Student Association named Dr. Alduino the “Professor of the Year”.
