Harold Counihan, Ph.D.
Originally a native of Savanah, Georgia, Dr. Harold. J. Counihan attended community college in Florida and obtained his undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University. He holds a History Ph.D. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He has taught college level courses in both four and two-year colleges and his area of research expertise is Jacksonian America. Dr. Counihan teaches online courses in both History of the United States 1 and 2. He is also the director of the Online High School Project, which provides portable college credit for high school honors students. He is the author of numerous articles dealing with applied research and he is currently writing a history of roads and highways in Maryland.
