AACC Honors is proud to announce...
Alexandra Houston-Ludlam ("Ali") recently became the first AACC Honors student to complete the program and earn an Honors Certificate in addition to her A.A. degree. Ali was also named Valedictorian, with her speech PDF noting her accomplishments via the Honors Program at AACC, and she was featured in The Capital.PDF She also received numerous scholarships, including the Transfer Academic Excellence Award from the University of Maryland, College Park. Ali is attending UMCP as a psychology major and we wish her all the best!

Gigi Barnett, a news correspondent from WJZ, interviewed two Honors students for a piece that focused on the AACC Honors Program with respect to community college Honors programs that are on the rise!
AACC Honors Featured in the Baltimore Sun
Recently, a reporter came to the main campus to interview Honors students, faculty and staff in the new Honors offices and student studio. The article, titled "Making Room for Honors" PDF was published in the Sunday paper on September 14th, 2008. The article illustrates a very positive reflection of what Honors at AACC is all about!

Honors Sponsors AACC students in Ethics Bowl
AACC students participated in the 2008 Ethics Bowl PDF for community colleges and Honors@AACC helped with sponsorship and support. Our team placed 2nd (only 4 points shy of 1st place)! AACC Honors students participated in the 2009 Ethics Bowl and won first place! The silver bowl engraved with AACC's win was proudly displayed in the Truxal Library. The 2010 Ethics Bowl was hosted at AACC and was a huge success. The Honors Department continues to sponsor and support participation in the annual Ethics Bowl and we look forward to the 2011 competition!
