Get started today by registering for AACC’s Network & Computer Security Fundamentals course, beginning February 21, 2017.  Elevate your career opportunities by gaining skills that are critical for being a cybersecurity professional. This course is designed as a hybrid, meaning that you will meet in class for 20 hours and spend approximately 20 hours online. You will learn to protect an organization’s data and critical digital assets through the exploration of the current threat landscape.  You will be exposed to strategies to defend against threats and examine the evolution of information security including types of attackers, attack methods, defense strategies and technologies. You will also practice vulnerability assessment and mitigation strategies as well as industry recognized host, application, data, network and wireless security techniques in hands-on lab and virtual environments.  And you will learn how to protect data using cryptography, access control and authentication as well as engaging in exploring risk mitigation and business continuity.  Course objectives align with the CompTIA Security+ industry certification.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of operating systems and hardware and/or CompTIA A+; basic networking concepts and/or CompTIA Network+.
