Synchronous Learning

Organizations and higher education institutions use synchronous learning and training platforms such as WebEx and LiveMeeting to deliver live, online learning to remote groups. Now professional trainers, curriculum developers and educators can advance their careers and learn the skills to design and deliver effective synchronous training.

What is the job outlook?
As technology becomes more integrated in traditional face-to-face instruction, demand for technology skills such as synchronous learning will increase. The average annual salary for instructional coordinators in Maryland is $61,000 and for online instructors nationwide is $43,000-$74,500.

What is the training?
Through a single noncredit course, students can learn how to create learner-centered collaborative learning with tools such as chat, whiteboards, application sharing and breakout rooms. The course runs six Saturdays at the Arnold campus. Total Hours: 38

What credentials can I earn?
Upon successful completion, students earn an AACC continuing education certificate. To receive the certificate students complete and submit the form to our office. The form and instructions can be found at www.aacc.edu/coned/certificates

What will it cost?
$950 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition and fees

What are the requirements?
Students must be at least 16 years old and, to be successful, should have curriculum design experience.
