Michael J. O'Rourke, J.D. is an associate professor at Anne Arundel Community College and has been a full-time faculty member since 1976. He was instrumental in formalizing the paralegal program at AACC.
Professor O'Rourke teaches a variety of courses, including Business Law I, Business Law II, Criminal Law, Evidence and Procedure, Torts, Civil Procedure, and Introduction to Paralegal Studies. He recently developed three paralegal courses for online and/or hybrid delivery. He also has been engaged in the part-time private practice of law since 1972, specializing in criminal law, family law, and personal injury. He has practiced in both state and federal courts and, in 2000, he successfully argued an important case before the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
Professor O'Rourke received his undergraduate degree from University of Maryland University College and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
