Veterans Appreciation Week Activities, November 9-13
Anne Arundel Community College will recognize the sacrifices and contributions of our military families through a variety of visual displays, initiatives and events, including:

HOV Lanes (Honor Our Veterans Lanes) – Nov. 9-13
U.S. flags will line the west campus foot bridge and the east campus quad in Arnold to honor our AACC military and veteran students. Flags will also be placed along walkways at AACC’s Arundel Mills (AMIL) and Glen Burnie Town Center (GBTC) locations. In addition, yellow ribbons will be displayed on trees and posts at various locations on the Arnold campus and AMIL and GBTC locations.

Appreciation Banners Displayed – Nov. 9-13
Appreciation Banners created by children in AACC’s Child Development Center will be displayed on the Arnold campus and AMIL and GBTC locations.

POW/MIA Table Displays – Nov. 9-13
The tradition of setting a table for one to honor prisoners of war and missing comrades has been in place since the end of the Vietnam War.  AACC will have settings displayed with explanations of the artifacts in the Dining Hall on the Arnold campus and the first floor entryway at AMIL.  A POW flag will be displayed on the first floor at GBTC in lieu of the table.

Veterans Day Ceremony and Reception – Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1 p.m.
Each year, AACC hosts a special Veterans Day ceremony featuring a reading of names of college employees, family members, friends and students who have served, or are serving, in the military. This year’s program will take place in front of the Veterans Memorial Garden at the base of the west campus amphitheater in Arnold. A small reception will follow in the first floor atrium of the CALT building. In the event of rain, the ceremony and reception will be held in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts, Arnold campus.

One Stop Registration Day – Thursday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For the convenience of our military and veteran students and dependents, a one-stop early registration day will take place in the first floor lobby of the Student Services building, Arnold campus. Services will include advising, registration and VA benefits/financial aid assistance.

Veterans Appreciation Exhibit – Nov. 9-13
An inclusive tribute to our veterans will be featured in a display at the second floor Quad entrance of the Andrew G. Truxal Library, Arnold campus.
