Registering for Motorcycle Safety Courses

AACC will be holding an opening registration day for the winter and spring 2008 courses. On that day, all registrations will be accepted in person only at the Continuing Education registration counter located in Room 115 of the Center for Applied Learning and Technology (CALT) on the Arnold Campus. Registration opens at 8 a.m.

Walk in registration for winter and spring 2008 courses will be held Thursday, Jan. 30 at the CALT building (room 115) beginning at 8 a.m. You must bring a copy of your driver's license or permit to walk in registration. After Jan. 30, you may register for courses in person at the CALT building (room 115), by fax (410-777-4325), or by mail (AACC Continuing Education, 101 College Pwky., Arnold, Md. 21012).

To register, you must provide:

  • a photocopy of your driver’s license or permit (please bring this to registration--this is required for you to receive a completion certificate for the BRC and BRC II);
  • fully completed registration form; and
  • full payment via check, money order or credit card.

Once registered for a course you must be on time for each session or you will not be allowed to continue in the course (please allow yourself enough travel time). Course fees will not be refunded to those students who are not allowed to continue because they were late for class. BRC students must read Units I-III of the Basic Rider Handbook in advance of the first class. The handbook will be handed out at walk-in registration. If you register by other means after walk-in registration, please take your receipt to one of the registration sites to obtain a copy of the handbook. Other registration sites include the Glen Burnie Town Center (call 410-777-2945 for hours) and AACC at Arundel Mills (call 410-777-2010 for hours).

Standby Policy

To be considered for stand-by status, arrive the first day or evening of the course you wish to attend (for the BRC that would be Wednesday evening during the summer and Thursday evening in the fall; for the BRC II and ERC that would be the Saturday the course is scheduled). The BRC begins at 5:45 p.m. and the BRC II and ERC usually begin at 12:30 p.m. In the event that an enrolled student does not arrive for class, names of standby students will be randomly drawn at the beginning of class. The maximum enrollment for each course is 12 students. Should you be selected, you must complete a registration form and pay for the course (check or credit card only) at that time. If you are enrolled in another Motorcycle Safety Program course at AACC, you must officially drop that course before the course begins to receive a refund.

If you'd like to try to enroll as a stand-by student, please contact the Instructional Support Center at 410-777-2325 or iscenter@aacc.edu for the dates and locations of the courses that interest you.
