Don’t Let Math Fears Keep You from Achieving Your Goals 

Don’t let your math difficulties get in the way of your academic future. This fall, Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is offering several free workshops focusing on ways people can overcome their math anxieties. The two-hour workshops are free to both current students and community members. 

Topics covered include:

  • Identify past math experiences that get in your way.
  • Master math skills with five study steps.
  • Select the best study strategies for you.
  • Reduce test anxiety, relax and show what you know.
  • Use memory strategies for formulas and more.
  • Use Internet and technology resources effectively.
  • Write and check your math work to minimize errors.
  • Tame your fear of word problems. 

No pre-registration is necessary. Workshops are scheduled on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway, unless otherwise noted:

  • Friday Oct. 21, 9 a.m.-11 a.m. in the Careers Center building (CRSC) Room 107.
  • Monday, Oct. 24, 6-8 p.m. at Glen Burnie Town Center Room 103, 101 Crain Highway N, Glen Burnie.
  • Thursday, Oct. 27, 3-5 p.m. Careers Center building (CRSC) Room 107.
  • Thursday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Careers Center building (CRSC) Room 107.
  • Saturday, Nov. 5, Noon-2 p.m. at AACC at Arundel Mills, Room 307, 7009 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover.
  • Monday, Nov. 7, 6-8 p.m. in the Careers Center building (CRSC) Room 107.
