Auditions Set for 'Lend Me a Tenor"
Jan. 7, 2005
Theater
The Moonlight Troupers will audition actors for the Ken Ludwig comedy, “Lend Me a Tenor,” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 7-8, at the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway.
Callbacks will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the same location.
Needed are four men and four women, all at least 18 years old. Three of the men need some singing ability, but acting skills are more important. Auditioners will read scenes from the script. Men interested in one of the singing roles will need to demonstrate their singing ability.
Rehearsals are in the evening, Mondays through Thursdays. The show will be performed April 15-17 and 21-24 at the Pascal Center for Performing Arts.
“Lend Me a Tenor” shows the hilarious results when an assistant stage manager -- who happens to be an aspiring singer -- tries to convince an audience that he is a world-famous tenor when that tenor becomes indisposed right before the curtain rises on opening night of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company’s season.
The Moonlight Troupers is the drama club at AACC. Directing the show will be Robert E. Kauffman, professor emeritus of performing arts at AACC. Robert E. Berry, instructor of performing arts, is scenographer. For information, call Kauffman at 410-647-5979 or e-mail him at robertkauffman@earthlink.net.
