Five Atheletes Receive NJCAA Region XX Academic Awards

Five Anne Arundel Community College student-athletes received 2004 National Junior College Athletic Association Region XX Academic Awards.

The award recipients include:
Krystle Behrns of Annapolis, a sophomore out of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Prince George’s County, who played midfield on the women’s soccer team. She was named second team 2004 soccer All Region and All Conference, 47 credits, 3.76 grade point average;

Jacob Bennett of Pasadena, a sophomore out of Northeast High School, winner of AACC’s 2003-2004 David S. Jenkins award as the male student athlete of the year, a midfielder on the men’s soccer team and an outfielder on the men’s baseball team, 40 credits, 3.67 grade point average;

Jenny Deans of Davidsonville, a sophomore out of Annapolis High School, who played defense on the women’s lacrosse team. She was Lacrosse magazine’s 2005 pre-season lacrosse player of the year and a 2004 Lacrosse All-American and Academic All-American, 48 credits, 3.87 grade point average;

Jennifer Marshall of Glen Burnie, a sophomore out of Northeast High School, who played midfield on the women’s lacrosse team, 41 credits, 3.85 grade point average;

Erika Tucker of Arnold, a freshman who was home-schooled in high school who played center on the women’s basketball team and hitter on the women’s volleyball team, 39 credits, 4.0 grade point average.
