Four at AACC Win National Awards
Four Anne Arundel Community College faculty members will receive teaching excellence awards May 29 at the 27th annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence in Austin, Texas.
Each year about 1,000 professors from across the nation gain recognition for outstanding service and teaching excellence at the conference. This is the 16th year for the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development teaching excellence awards program.
NISOD winners for 2005 at AACC are Amy M. Allen-Chabot, Ph.D., of Bowie, assistant professor of nutrition/biology; Kenneth J. Jarvis of Arnold, assistant professor of hotel/restaurant management; Cherry A. Karl, R.N., of Stevensville, associate professor of nursing; and Richard A. Malmgren Jr. of Lothian, assistant professor of art.
All will receive pewter medallions.
NISOD is part of the Community College Leadership Program in the College of Education of the University of Texas at Austin, with a membership of some 600 colleges throughout the United States.
